In our project, we defined programming as a system that builds an offering of virtual and in-person events intended to foster engagement and collaboration in the Water Cooler community. The areas of focus were identified to impact collaboration around Programming, Technology and Space.
We identified three pillars for improving collaboration, building trust, creating awareness and finding a rhythm for collaboration in the community.
Water Cooler is the community of nonprofit and social impact tenants at Pegasus Park. Organizations receive subsidized rent, access to philanthropic funds for furniture and infrastructure, and low-cost amenities and services designed to accelerate their respective missions.
Our qualitative research process identified three pillars for building a foundation for collaboration; building trust, creating awareness and finding a rhythm for gatherings in the community. We formed and launched the Connection Committee as a way to engage the stakeholders in planning and organizing a range of events based on social and learning activities.
Trust is the fundamental building block of a strong company culture and an essential component in collaborative workplaces.
The desire to learn and understand another organization's mission, goals and needs.
Periodic programmed events can be a powerful tool to increase collaboration among members of an organization.
